ATLANTA - Picture an evening surrounded by friends at one of the city’s top restaurants while you enjoy amazing food and fine wines, followed by dessert and dancing at Atlanta’s premier nightclub. Truly a night of indulgence, but with a twist; the proceeds will go to the March of Dimes mission of saving babies. On June 13, 2008, Atlantans will experience all this and more at the 24th Annual March of Dimes Dining Out - an evening of fabulous fare with a side of philanthropy.
The evening begins with a three-course dinner specially prepared for a table of 8 or 10 guests with hand-selected wine pairings (or creative cocktails in some cases) at one of the participating restaurants, which include: Aria, Canoe, JOËL, Trois, Cuerno and Pricci, to name a few. After a true VIP dining experience, Dining Out guests will head to the decadent club Opera, where they will burn off some of those well-worth-it calories and enjoy tasty cupcakes by Sweet Pockets bakery.
An event of this caliber is only as great as the people behind it, which is why The March of Dimes is honored to have Laura Sinnott Peters, Atlanta Director of Marketing and Communications for international law firm Greenberg Traurig, as this year’s Dining Out Chair. A former practicing lawyer and a true role model for successfully balancing a powerful career and community involvement, Peters has committed herself to the March of Dimes’ mission of preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. “This mission is very important to me, as I personally experienced these very issues and, as a consequence, suffered the loss of my baby girl, Emma Ryan,” says Peters. “The March of Dimes works to ensure that no mother endures what I have endured, and offers me and many other women hope that we will see a day when every baby is born healthy.”
Peters has also been instrumental in attracting a new crop of diners to the tables this year. March of Dimes Dining Out has always been, and will continue to be the perfect opportunity to dine with friends and/or family, but this year, with Laura’s encouragement, a number of corporations have come on board to take advantage of the opportunity to “entertain” their employees or summer associates. What better way to experience our happening city than with a specially-prepared dinner and night out on the town?
The 24th Annual March of Dimes Dining Out committee members ensuring another successful year are: Christi Aldridge, Julie Baxter, Amanda Brown, Jackie Davis, Stephanie Davis, Michelle Dauble, Jeff Dauler, Angela Haase, Holli Hines Easton, Lauren Fisher, Scott Higley, Kelly Hornbuckle, Hannah Huffines, Gannon Gingrey Manning, Tara Murphy, Lewis Perkins and Dave Williams. And, helping to make the event possible are sponsors: Diamond: Georgia Power, Atlanta Magazine, All the Hits Q100, Opera; Silver: Greenberg Traurig, CIGNA, Level Vodka, 360 Media, Inc.
