“Spring Wildflowers Around Unicoi”

LOCATION:	Unicoi State Park and Lodge 1788 Hwy. 356 Helen, GA 30545

DESCRIPTION:	On April 18 and 19, 2008 Unicoi State Park and Lodge will hold their annual “Spring Wildflowers Around Unicoi” weekend. Starting at 8:00p.m.on Friday, there will be a wildflower slide show and lecture that will help both the novice and experienced wildflower enthusiasts to better appreciate the colorful and fascinating world of mountain wildflowers. On Saturday, April 19, 2008, there will be a wildflower walk up to Anna Ruby Falls. The hike is approximately 3⁄4 of a mile. At 1:00p.m. there will be a medicinal and edible plant walk including gathering, preparing, and sampling. We will hike approximately 11⁄2 miles. At 4:00 p.m. come join Park Staff on a wildflower walk around our Bottoms Loop Trail. This hike is 2 miles in length. At 8:00 p.m. join us this evening around the campfire as we trade stories by the fire and put together some S’mores. Bring your own fixins!
