July 2008 marks the 125th Anniversary of Snellville United Methodist Church in Snellville, Georgia. We’ve come a long way from our humble beginnings in 1883 when Reverend Betts, an evangelist, conducted a revival in this community. From these services, came a group of spirit-filled believers who organized Snellville Methodist Episcopal Church, South.
Thus began what we know of today as Snellville United Methodist Church. The vision of our original church founders for a place of worship planted the seeds of faith in a small community.
During the month of July, Snellville United Methodist will be celebrating our 125th Anniversary! Our Homecoming series, beginning July 13, is appropriately entitled “Celebrating the Past Looking Forward to the Future”. Among the celebratory events, we will be welcoming guest pastors, celebrating persons active with the church for 50 years or more, and enjoying a reunion choir.
Snellville UMC is blessed with a rich heritage and progressive vision for the future. Please join us in July as we celebrate the past and look forward to the future with grateful anticipation. http://www.snellvilleumc.org
