A committee of local Elk Foundation volunteers and staff awards grants each year. Georgia is home to thousands of conservationists who are fascinated by elk and devoted to ensuring the future of elk habitat. While they’re at it, they’re also supporting worthy causes right in their own backyards,” said David Allen, RMEF president and CEO.

“The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation is proud to support such a worthwhile cause through its grant program” said RMEF State Chair Michael Wright.  Grants are based on revenues from Elk Foundation fundraising banquets in Georgia, as well as worthy project proposals.” Prior grants from the Elk Foundation helped fund the 4-H, Becoming an Outdoors-Woman workshops, and activities and events for outdoor newcomers and youths.
