Ray Couch was installed as the 2008/09 president and scholarships were presented to current Grayson High School seniors by Ivan Bagby, Scholarship Committee Chairman.
The Grayson High School Alumni remember much of the history of Grayson when it was a small country town with dirt roads and cotton fields all over the area. The first school was built in the spring of 1882 and it was named Tripp Academy because the town was first called Tripp. The name Tripp was changed to Berkely in 1901 but there was another Berkely in Georgia so the town was named Grayson in 1902. The high school held the first graduation ceremony in 1917 and members of that first class were Alba Etheridge, Ruth Johnson, Ruth Petty, George Jacobs and Waymon Gower.
