New Buford Thrift Store Helps Poor and Needy

On Monday January 7, the St. Monica Conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society opened a new Thrift Store in Buford.
This is the 7th St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store in the Greater Atlanta area and is an addition to the more than 350 stores nationwide.

The St. Vincent de Paul Society is offering any form of help that alleviates suffering and depriviation and promotes human dignity and personal integrity
in all their dimensions. The Society serves those in need regardless of creed, ethnic or social background, health, gender or political opinions.

This SVDP Thrift Store is VOLUNTEER operated (no paid staff) and sells donated gently used clothes, shoes, household goods and small appliances.
All proceeds from sales goes to help Gwinnett's less fortunate, providing them with monetary, food, shelter and humanitarian assistance.

St. Monica's conference receives over 80 calls each week from people needing assistance.
Thanks to monetary donations the SVDP organizaion has helped thousands of people in this area and by adding the Thrift Store we will be
able to reach many more needy families in the future. The Store's motto: "Helping people, one at a time".

Donations of gently used clothing, shoes, books and small household items are greatly appreciated and can be dropped off during
business hours.

The SVDP Thrift Store is located at 1433 Buford Highway, just South of Hwy 20.  Hours: Monday-Saturday 10:00am-4:00pm.
phone: 770-271-1764.
